Singapore Emission Factors
18 emission factors for Singapore, gathered from 6 parts of the GreenCalculus MasterBrain — Reporting Thresholds (13), Carbon Pricing (1), Digital (1), Grid Lifecycle Intensity (1), Hotel Stay (1) and Transmission & Distribution (1) — so figures normally spread across separate reference pages sit on one. Drawn from 6 named sources, each listed with its publisher and licence under Sources below, and read live from the data layer on every page build. They span 16 units of measurement, which is why the spread below is reported per unit and never blended.
The Scope 2 factor Singapore does not have
GreenCalculus carries no national location-based grid emission factor for Singapore. The grid figure on this page is Ember’s full-lifecycle intensity, and it is not a substitute for one.
The distinction decides whether a number belongs on a Scope 2 line. A GHG Protocol Scope 2 figure takes a location-based factor — direct combustion at the generator, for the grid the site draws from. What this page carries for Singapore is grid.sgp.electricity.lifecycle_intensity: 0.49709 kg CO₂e per kWh, Ember Yearly Electricity Data, data year 2024. That is a full life-cycle metric — generation plus plant construction, fuel supply chains and upstream methane — recorded against scope.ghg_protocol = outside_scopes because it makes no GHG Protocol scope assertion at all.
It suits screening, context and product-level work. It does not suit the Scope 2 line of a corporate inventory, and an assurance provider should be expected to say so. For that line, use a location-based factor from the national authority or the figure your electricity retailer discloses.
The absence is a statement about this corpus, not about the world. It records that no national direct factor for Singapore has been sourced, licensed and cell-referenced to the standard every other row here meets — not that none is published anywhere. The API answers the same way rather than guessing, which is the whole point of asking it:
curl "https://greencalculus.com/wp-json/greencalculus/v1/factors?key_prefix=grid.sgp"
returns exactly one row — the lifecycle intensity above, carrying its boundary statement. Ask for the Scope 2 key instead:
curl "https://greencalculus.com/wp-json/greencalculus/v1/factors?key_prefix=grid.sgp.electricity.location_based"
and the response is "total": 0 with a warning naming the key that does not exist. No silent fallback to a neighbouring country, no regional average standing in for a national figure, no invented number. That is the behaviour to want from anything feeding a disclosure — and the reason to call a data layer rather than ask a model.
Where these factors also appear
Each factor here also appears on the reference page for its own family — Grid Electricity Carbon-Intensity Factors by Country, Regulatory Reporting Thresholds, Carbon Price Reference Values, Grid Transmission & Distribution Loss Factors, Hotel Stay Emission Factors and Digital & Cloud Emission Factors — where it sits alongside every other country. This page is the same data cut to one country, for when that is the question being asked.
Who has to report, and from when
Thirteen of the rows below are not emission factors at all — they are the parameters of Singapore’s ISSB-aligned climate reporting mandate, administered by SGX RegCo and ACRA: which entities are captured, the first financial year each track reports for, the SGD revenue and total-asset thresholds that bring a large non-listed company into scope, the Scope 3 and comparatives reliefs, the external assurance phase-in and the scenario-analysis expectation. They are carried in the same corpus, under the same citation discipline, because the question “which factor do I use?” is usually preceded by “am I in scope, and for which year?”

Last changed names the data-layer edition in which a factor last took a new value, reconstructed from every released edition since v2025.13. A dash means the value has not moved since tracking began, which is the answer to "is the figure I used last year still current?".
Common questions
No. The only grid row carried for Singapore is grid.sgp.electricity.lifecycle_intensity — Ember’s full-lifecycle intensity of 0.49709 kg CO2e per kWh, recorded as outside_scopes because it makes no GHG Protocol scope assertion. A Scope 2 line needs a location-based factor, which is a different boundary and a different number. Querying the location-based key returns a total of 0 and a warning rather than a substitute, so an integration can detect the absence instead of inheriting a wrong figure.
18 rows, from 6 named sources: Ember Yearly Electricity Data (2025 release), the SGX and ACRA ISSB-aligned reporting mandate, the World Bank Carbon Pricing Dashboard, World Bank transmission and distribution loss data, Google Cloud regional carbon data and DEFRA 2026. They are read live from the GreenCalculus data layer on every page build rather than re-typed, so the figures here are the same ones the calculators and the API use.
No, and this page spans an unusually wide range of units because thirteen of the rows are regulatory parameters rather than emission factors — a first reporting year and an SGD threshold are not quantities you can sum with a kg CO2e per kWh. A factor is only meaningful against the activity data its unit describes, which is why the spread is reported per unit and never blended into a single average.
Every row has its own link. Click the canonical key in the last column and the address bar will hold an anchor for that one factor, so a citation resolves to the number itself rather than to a table someone has to search. Quote the data-layer edition alongside it — values change between editions, and the version is what lets a reader resolve the exact figure you used.
